The Hanro brand was registered in 1913 and is an amalgamation of the surnames of the two founders: Albert Handschin and Carl Ronus. Its history dates back to 1884, when Albert Handschin set up a knitwear factory in Liestal, in Switzerland, with the aim of producing underwear using natural fibres that were soft and comfortable to wear.
Straightaway, Hanro focused on its circular knitting patent in order to ensure a perfect fit and comfortable feel.
The brand’s motto is “understated luxury”; however, the comfort that is so distinctive of their men’s and women’s underwear never comes at the expense of the products’ aesthetic attributes.
The brand has successfully cemented its place as a global leader in the finest mercerised cotton thanks to the quality and longevity of its designs.
Today, Hanro is synonymous with understated luxury and natural elegance, producing items of underwear using only natural cotton, silk, cashmere and merino wool fibres, combined with French lace and Swiss embroidery. You can feel their quality on your skin.
Hanro has also succeeded in becoming the pioneer of a new purist aesthetic inspired by wellness, launching the best products made out of pure mercerised cotton.
Its range includes products for both men and women, with men’s underwear and pyjamas, and women’s corsetry and knitwear.
